4th edition of TOPPIX Aviation Photography competition kicks off tomorrow
SIMPSON BAY, St. Maarten (Thursday, November 3, 2016)— All is set for the 4th edition of the Toppix Aviation Photography competition, which kicks off on Friday, November 4 at the Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM Airport).
The competition, the brainchild of Robert (Robbie) Cijntje and sponsored by SXM Airport, has seen an increasing number of participants since it was first organized in November 2013. “Participants will be informed of this year’s theme during the welcome briefing, receive additional details, as well as their SXM goody bag, as is customary”, said Suzy Kartokromo, Manager Marketing & Customer Service at SXM Airport.
The competition starts immediately following the welcome briefing and ends on Friday, November 11 when the winner will be announced at 4:30 PM during the St. Maarten Day festivities at the airport.
Participants can register at any time during the competition and are allowed to submit a maximum of 3 photos. A registration fee of USD 20 will be collected from the participants upon registration.
Photos must be e-mailed to rcijntje@photos.cw and Cc skartokromo@sxmairport.com by 9:00 PM on or by November 10, 2016, and taken during same period. Photos must depict an aviation related action at Sint Maarten, as per the theme given by the organizing committee, have an aspect ratio of 3:2 and be in landscape format.
The winning photographer will receive a cash prize of USD 2,500 and will have his or her photograph displayed in the arrival hall of SXM Airport for one year, along with the other 5 finalists.
