GREAT BAY, St. Maarten (Sunday, November 9, 2014) About 56 children from foster homes accompanied by seven adults will be the special guests at a St. Maarten Day Program being hosted by the Princess Juliana International Airport, SXM, starting from midday November 11th. The children will be transported to the airport where an array of cultural and fun activities awaits them.

The Dance Theater will also perform a flash mob to the rhythm of The Mighty Dow’s hit song, St. Maarten Rumba, while the New Generation Drum band, directed by their charismatic founder and leader, Umay Dormoy will do what they do best, thrill the spectators. DJ “Mr. Rude” will also be in the house to provide additional entertainment.
Similarly, the children will participate in a variety of fun games hosted by SXM Airport with winners receiving promotional items as prizes.
In addition, there will be bouncy castles, face painting and mascot performances. Concessionaires at the airport will have the opportunity to sell their food and beverage at the event and cotton candy and popcorn will also be available.
“As the foremost gateway to our island, a day like this cannot go unnoticed at SXM Airport,” said Kalifa Hickinson, the airport’s Corporate Communications Specialist.
“And although our focus this year is on foster children, the program we have put together is in fact for all St. Maarten children,” she added.
The activities will end at 5:00PM.
